FauxGen vs Random User
Random User is a developer API. You request JSON and get a user object: name, location, email, login and a portrait from their photo set. FauxGen is a set of pages, not an API. It builds the same kind of person locally, with country checksum IDs and tools Random User does not offer: IBAN, plate images, and chat screenshots.
Their site: randomuser.me
Use FauxGen when
You are filling a form, designing a profile, or exporting a PNG, and you do not want to call an external API or ship someone else's portrait.
Use Random User when
Your tests or seed script need an HTTP API that returns user JSON. FauxGen does not offer that API.

FAQ
Can I replace randomuser.me with FauxGen in code?+
Not as a drop-in API. FauxGen has no public JSON endpoint. Use it in the browser, or keep Random User when a seed script must fetch users over HTTP.
Are the faces real people?+
Random User serves portraits from its dataset. FauxGen's free mode draws illustrated faces that do not depict a real person. Photoreal mode calls an AI provider with your key.
Which one is better for QA forms?+
If the form checks an IBAN, a national ID checksum, or a local postal pattern, FauxGen is built for that. If the test only needs a JSON user fixture, Random User is the shorter path.
